A whole-person
approach to care

I'm Marissa — a Denver-based physical therapist originally from New York, drawn west by a love of the mountains and everything Colorado has to offer. I earned my Bachelor's from Cornell University and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from NYU.

After years working with post-surgical and aging populations, I found my way to pelvic floor physical therapy for its ability to deeply and holistically improve quality of life. My approach blends clinical expertise with a strong understanding of the nervous system — incorporating breathwork, body awareness, and mindful movement into every session.

I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in Bali and weave mindfulness and restorative practices into my work whenever it fits. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, seen, and supported — and I strive to create that environment every time.

What patients say

★★★★★

Marissa completely changed how I think about my body. I'd been dealing with pelvic pain for two years and seen multiple providers who told me everything was normal. Within a few sessions she figured out what was actually going on and gave me real tools to heal.

★★★★★

I came to Marissa postpartum, not knowing what to expect. She was so warm, patient, and thorough. She helped me understand what my body had been through and gave me a safe path back to the activities I love. I wish I'd found her sooner.

Jamie L.
Postpartum patient
★★★★★

The way Marissa combines PT with breathwork and yoga is unlike anything I've experienced. She treats the whole person, not just the problem. I left every session feeling more connected to my body and more hopeful than when I came in.

Questions

Frequently asked

In Colorado, you can see a physical therapist directly without a referral — this is called direct access. That said, some insurance plans may require one for coverage, so it's worth checking with your provider. Either way, you're welcome to reach out and we can figure it out together.
Your first session is mostly about getting to know you. We'll talk through your history, your symptoms, your goals, and what's been going on in your life — because all of that matters. I'll do a movement and postural assessment, and depending on your comfort level, we may begin an external pelvic floor evaluation. Nothing happens without your full consent.
No. An internal assessment can provide really valuable information, but it's never required and always your choice. We can do a lot of meaningful work externally, and I'll always follow your lead on what feels right for you.
Please reach out directly to discuss insurance and payment options. I'm happy to provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, and I'm committed to making care as accessible as possible.
It really depends on what you're working with. Some people feel significant improvement in just a few sessions; others benefit from more ongoing support. After your first appointment, I'll give you a realistic sense of what to expect for your specific situation.
Yes — virtual sessions are available for certain types of care, including yoga therapy, movement coaching, and follow-up appointments. Reach out and we can discuss whether a virtual option makes sense for your needs.
